How do I restore Google to be my default search engine?

Windows & Mac O/S Devices, Chromebooks, Chrome Web Browsers

When searching for information in Google Chrome, the page will not display or displays unrelated information

A Google Chrome extension or website may have caused the default Google search engine to be altered

  1. With Google Chrome open, select the 3 dots in the upper right corner, choose Settings

  2. On the settings page, scroll down until you reach the Search Engine section

  3. Ensure that the 'Search engine used in the address bar' is set to Google

  4. If another site was listed, you can permanently remove this site from the 'Manage search engines' section

      • Select the 3 dots next to the site you would like to remove, then select Remove for the list

It is also recommended that you inspect your installed Chrome Extensions as they could of changed your default search engine; remove any you do not recognize.  Follow this article on how to Remove Chrome Extensions
