How do I change my default reply option in Outlook Webmail?

APPLIES TO

Outlook O365 Webmail

ISSUE

The default option for replying to emails is currently set to 'Reply to All'

CAUSES

This is the default option from Microsoft and will need to be adjusted per user

RESOLUTION

There are two methods to resolve this depending on if you are using the traditional outlook web mail or the "new" outlook webmail.  Follow the steps below for either option.

TRADITIONAL OUTLOOK INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In the upper right corner of your Outlook Webmail client, select Settings
  2. Near the bottom of the settings menu, in the Your App Settings section, select Mail
  3. On the left side menu, select Reply Settings
  4. In the Reply Settings menu, select Reply, then Save

THE NEW OUTLOOK INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In the upper right corner of your Outlook Webmail client, select Settings
  2. At the bottom of the settings menu, select View All Outlook Settings
  3. In the next menu, select Mail, then Compose and Reply, and scroll down to the Reply or Reply All options

  4. Choose Reply, then select Save

Note: This only affects staff who are using the Outlook Webmail client and does not affect the Outlook desktop application installed on Windows 10.
