This Process will reset the device hardware and software back to defaults and is used to solve many issues a user may be experiencing:
This process will not erase user data that is stored online in the cloud, but may erase local pictures if they have not been uploaded.
Reset Instructions
Step By Step:
- Ensure your Chromebook is powered on and at the login screen. Sign out if you are still logged in.
- Press the CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + R keys at the same time.
- The following screen should appear:
- Click or Tap the Powerwash button

Click or Tap Continue to confirm the powerwash.
- Note: Your device will be reset and all user accounts and local data will be removed. This cannot be undone.
- Your Chromebook will restart and begin the powerwash process.
- Once completed, the Chromebook will restart to the Welcome screen.
- Select the Let's go button.
- If you are in a school district building, select the IPSD_GUEST network. Choose your local Wi-Fi Network when away from a school district building.

Press Accept and Continue to accept the Google terms of service.
- Note: If using the IPSD_Guest network, scroll to the bottom of the Guest Network Acceptable Use Guidelines and press ACCEPT.
- The Chromebook will then begin its auto enrollment process and check for updates.
- Once the Chromebook is successfully enrolled, click Done, and sign into the Chromebook as usual.
